I was roped in by diet culture. I was made to believe that I had to look a certain way and in order to get there, I had to restrict my food intake, eat very little carbs and practically be hungry all the time, all the while, starving my body of real nutrition. To be honest, I didn’t know any better. I would read anything and believe everything that I read. All this, while studying nutrition. Oh the irony! I remember trying to stay under 1000 calories a day but really, I didn’t do it for long because it was just impossible. Not something I could really sustain because I just love food so much. Anyway, the more I studied, the more I learnt and finally came to the realization that I couldn’t just believe anything I read. I realized that nourishing my body with real food was so much more important that looking a certain way. No one was paying me to look thin and be a model so why the torture? As a community we are forgetting that we eat food for our bodies to thrive. That we don’t need to stay hungry to be healthy but in fact the very opposite. We need to eat. We need to remember why, remember your love for food. I am here helping you to remember your love for food, teach you how to balance your food intake and lose weight at the same time. No fad diets, no starvation. Just real food.
